Known as the ‘Bordeaux of South America,’ Maipo is renowned for its prestigious wines. The region’s mild Mediterranean climate, with minimal rainfall, benefits from controlled drip irrigation and fertile clay-based soils, resulting in robust red wines. Sitting in the middle of California’s Central Valley, Lodi sees warm days and cool nights and benefits from the breezes blowing inland from the Bay area. BESITO
MANCHUELA, SPAIN
Besito, meaning “little kiss” in Spanish, is a lively blend of Macabeo and Moscatel (Muscat) with a delicate touch of sweetness. Aromas of bright citrus and white blossoms lead to a peach-infused palate layered with tropical fruit and citrus flavors. Soft hints of honeysuckle and lemon zest complete this smooth and luscious wine.
Manchuela is an inland region with a continental climate, but its vineyards, located 600-1000m above sea level, benefit from the cooling effect of the altitude. Combined with fresh Mediterranean breezes, this moderates the hot summer days, slowing the ripening process. As a result, the white grapes here produce fresh, fruity wines with excellent acidity.
