Brew on Premise (also known as: UBrew, UVin, Ferment on Premise, On-Site Winery, On-Site Winemaking and Urban Winery in other provinces) was approved in Alberta in October of 2018, allowing the Home Wine Making customers to purchase their craft wine kits and ferment them right in the store. Customers can now simply “toss the yeast” and book an appointment to come back in 30 to 45 days for bottling - without all the Fuss and Muss and equipment of home brewing. Simply “set it” and “forget it” – VCW looks after the rest!
Our Village Craft Winemaker home winemaking supplies Calgary store is a proudly local, “niche” establishment that provides character and style and is a fun place to come and put your wine in.
We are also a full-fledged wine making supplies store that stocks high quality Beer Kits, WineXpert, and RJ Spagnols Craft Wine Making Kits1, a great selection of bottles (including hard to find burgundy), labels, shrink tops, gift bags, accessories and additives – which make great gift ideas for the holidays and all year round (Gift Cards Available by Request).

Lori Dahlberg – owner of VCW – started making wine as a hobby in 1993 and has never looked back.
When Brew on Premise was finally approved in Alberta, Lori jumped on the chance to open her own store.
Now a Sommelier with a WSET Level 3 Certification (Wine and Spirits Estates Trust) – trained by Master of Wine: Philip Goodband (former Sommelier to the Queen Mother) – Lori knows how to make quality wine and is thrilled to bring her skills and knowledge to her store and the Home Wine Making Niche.
Whether you are a newbie or have a few batches under your belt, Lori can help with best practices and customizing your kit with fruit and additives. Whether you are Fermenting your Kit at Home or on Premise, let Lori help craft the perfect wine for you.
High Quality Wine is our Focus! – which is why VCW uses the patented UWinemaker™ in its fermentation process. UWinemaker™ – a Calgary invention – provides a single fermentation vessel that keeps the oxygen out and makes superior, crystal clear wine with less hassle and faster turnaround.
